Tamra Cantore received an unwelcome gift for her 40th birthday. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
Tamra kept up the pace of her busy life for a couple years: she remained a busy wife, mother, telecommunications executive and sports fanatic, thanks to medications. But after a few years, the degenerative nature of this chronic disease became an increasing part of her daily life.
In typical fashion, Tamra took on this life-changing reality as a challenge, not a roadblock.
In 2000, Tamra founded Team Cantore. Her mission: increase awareness of the changing faces of Parkinson's, as well as the need for increased funding for research. Research is the only way we will slow the progression of this disease and, ultimately, find a cure.
